Universal Studio Singapore
Resorts World Sentosa
Finally, mummy has been wanting to go to Universal Studio for so long and it's perfect coz Transformers the ride just opened! Her husband got it as a wedding annivesary gift. So enjoy the slide show!
I asked mummy to tell her day out at USS. Scroll down for photos and videos.
Finally, after much nagging and hassle my dear husband took me to USS on our wedding anniversary!!!. I have never been so happy! Although the prices have gone up (It was $66 when it first opened) but it's 3/4 of the worth.
We decided to take a bus there, there's a bus heading to Harbourfront near our home. But I told my husband it's going to take a while coz it's not the weekends. Weekends there's a special bus to go straight to Resort World Sentosa - 963R, less stops. But because it's the weekdays, no bus going to RWS but only to Harbourfront. And this took a loooooong time to reach there. We decided to dropped at Clementi just before the bus heading to Highway, and flagged a cab to Vivocity.
From there, we took the train - Sentosa Express on the 3rd level to RWS. It's $2 for entry and I used my Ezlink card. To my surprise it was 10am and a weekday, I have never seen so many people!!!. We squeezed into the train. Only one stop - Waterfront Station.
We walked to USS which is a short distance (If you see the huge globe with the word Universal, there it is) We walked in and showed our internet booking. And we stepped into HOLLYWOOD. And the first mascot I saw, WOODY!!! I wanna take the picture but I guess he wanted to take a break but never mind, his missus was there. So that's our first mascot photo of the day.
We didnt had our breakfast so before we started our journey, we wanted to grab a bite. We understood there were a few halal food but to my surprise everywhere we go, there's something to eat. And this 50's theme diner place was one of them. It's 1030am but oh well, hot dog for me and cheeseburger for my husband. The prices were steep, 2 meals for $20+. Come here, make your own lunch.
After we were done, we walked and found ourselves in NEW YORK CITY. And this staff kept telling us 10 mins to showtime - LIGHTS, CAMERAS, ACTIONS. And because my husband paid $30 more for express queue, we walked as if we owned the place. Hehehe. It's not a ride just a good educational and interactive attraction. Not going to tell you more. HA!
that's done, we walked thru the streets of NYC. Took photos, walking, then we got to sci-fi section. And you know what's at sci-fi. the much talked about ride TRANSFORMERS!!! Using our express passes, we breezed thru. Using 3D glasses we sat in a car fir for 16 people. And how lucky, we got the front row. The ride was FREAKING AMAZING!!! It's pretty much I think they used the same physic theory as those in NASA where the car moved around at one spot but the screen was so realistic, you felt you were in the movie. I couldn't tell you by some words, you have to try it. Then we walked to the HUMAN & CYCLONE rides. that's the only time i went Eenine-meenie-minie-mo. CYCLONE it is. Not for the faint-hearted
Then we walked to my favourite franchise, THE MUMMY!!! And I wanted to take the ride BUT it's closed for public. I didn't know the reason, but I told my husband, die die I have to go. So we're coming back later.
We walked to the Jurassic Park section. I wanna to take the water ride but... sob... sob... it's closed. The other ride I was not interested in riding. So no rides there, just plenty of pictures. We walked past Waterworld but it's closed but willl re-opened for a show at 3pm, 2 hrs to spare. So we quickly walked to the next section, Far Far Away.
A staff screaming Donkey show in 10 mins! Hmmm... ok we tried. It's perfect for kids as it's interactive, really interactive, but pretty short. Then it's time for lunch. Happy to find another halal outlet nearby. Ate Fish & Chips and cheese fries, which is yummy...
We head to another attraction, it's 4D show, where we sat down, and watched ala theatre. Loved the part where Donkey sneezed and "spiders" crawling up our legs. Then my husband was tired he didn't want to take the mini rollercoaster. It was short and only 3mins long. As we walked out, I screamed at my husband "PUSS!!!" I ran and was the first to take photo of him. :D
We hurriedly back to Waterworld, not really interesting except the beginning where the audience below were wet. That was funny.
Then we're back at HOLLYWOOD, it's only 5pm and my husband said he wanted something sweet. So we went to a Deli and was looking out of the window, guess who I saw, PO!!! I took a picture of him then walking past me me a gigantic tall Frankestein's monster!
After we had our fill we went a little shopping, souvenirs, 6pm there's a Monster show at the theatre. It was fun sining all the rock classics and the latest by actors who dressed as monsters.
One bad thing I hate was we walked twice, we walked around USS twice, and we slumped our butts on the stairs in front of the Palace to wait for the dancers to entertain us
Overall... it was fun but they need more entertainment and more attractions. I will go again this year, maybe on my B'dae in October.
