Alice Cooper
My mummy heard that Alice Cooper is coming to town, So I asked, "A play?"
"What play?" she asked back
"Alice in Wonderland" I answered
"Yeah, Alice in Wonderland, Alice in Gothic land"
Catch no ball
So she saw there's a contest for a pair of tickets for 5th Oct 2011. She answered a simple question and she didnt hope for the best, but she opened the email and she won!
I asked her where she heard this guy (Alice a guy? I think I will read in Wikipedia). She said that she knew about him since her secondary school days when her older brother had a couple of cassttes. Not a fan, she continue but she likes a few of his songs.
Anyway below are some of the pictures and videos of the concert, apologises if a bit blurry. She just got a new phone, Samsung Galaxy SII and she was not use to the camera function yet.
This was held on 5th October at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore at 8pm, The Colisseum.

BTW, Mummy was at her craziest to the song Poison
Here is mummy's review
I was surfing the net when I saw the words which I would never thought it will happen "Alice Cooper Live In Singapore" Serious?! I remember seeing the name Alice Cooper among the many casettes that my bro had when we were younger. So I asked my husband if he was interested, He said he's not a fan. But hey! It's Alice Cooper, when will we ever see him again? So there's a contest by Universal. Tried my luck. And low and behold I got them.
Rushed to Hard Rock Hotel at Sentosa, was told to come early to get better view. But we didn't want to be stampede. But nevertheless we got a good view. Despite a small venue, there were died hard fans of Alice Cooper. Mostly Caucasian men which was no surprise. Rock is not that popular in Singapore.
The concert started and the stage was one of the most over the top props I have ever seen. With a life-size doll, a giant "monster" a big "I-dun-noe-what-its-call" where they cut off the heads in the olden times.
On top of performing songs from Welcome 2 My Mightmare album, he sang the classic with songs like School's Out and of course Poison. I sang my heart out to that song. I let down my hair coz this was the first concert aft so long, aft such a bad 2010.
He got himself a few people in his group who are quite well-known by themselves. Orianthi, the young lady who was to performed with the late Michael Jackson for Is This It? Concert. And Tommy Henriksen, who sang one of my fav songs "I See The Sun"
I enjoyed every bit of the concert, and I have made my husband a believer. Coz after the concert he rushed to buy bandanas and guitar picks. :D

Whitesnake
"Whitesnake!!!" Mummy cried
"Mummy, where?!"
"Is coming to Singapore!"
"Don't we have enough snakes in the zoo?"
"Oh sorry, Okty. Whitesnake is a rock band, my dad's fav band. Sorry sweetie."
*FAINTS*
Oh no! Here we go again! (Wait isn't that a titlte of one of their songs?) Her husband asked my mummy who is a whizz at winning tix to try winning a pair for this concert. So she decided. The contest requested to name her fav song and why. And mummy gave a heart-wrenching story of her her late dad singing to the song Soldier of Fortune when she was a kid. Mummy said she won this in memory of her dad. sob...
Anyway she and her husband went and yet again, next to the speakers. Mummy... why... But thankfully coz those standing in the center were so crazy. One attempted to lift her top and another started a fight. This is how rock concert should be, mummy crazily said.
She's happy not the oldies like the band but a lot of youngsters. I mean the singer David Coverdale has hit his 60s!
Anyway, here are the photos & videos and they are better than Alice Cooper's coz she has leanrt how to use it.
This was held on 1st November at Fort Canning Park at 8pm
Opening Band, Slank from Indonesia
I asked mummy to review and this is what she said:
Finally! One of the greatest bands in the world reached our shores - Whitesnake! Despite the slight drizzle, it didnt bring our spirits down. Rockers of all ages came together and sang our hearts out. His British accent, it's oh so beautiful.
On top of singing songs from the latest Forever More, of course they have to perform their classics, Here We Go Again and Is This Love are the most requested. I saw the setlist beforehand and I was disappointed that they are not performing Soldier of Fortune. But out of the blue, David Coverdale sang it - without any instruments, just his raw voice. It's so haunting yet beautiful. I shed a tear coz that's my late dad's fav song, and I was wishing he was watching the concert with me.
What is rock wihout any drum and guitar solos, Amazing work!. I wished I could record them but it lasted so long, and my battery went flat.
Overall... Kudos to Whitesnake and David! What an amazing concert you gave us. We were not disappointed!
